The sun is out and we decided, after I convinced Val, to visit Gacilly. Last time there we drove through on a grey day and missed the point completely.
This time we didnít. Parking in the town we walked around, finding craft shops and artists studios, I think we were getting the point as we stopped and had a drink. Moving off down the hill we entered a park area and then moved back for lunch.
What a lunch! We ate at L'Aff'ine Bouche, a Bretton bar/restaurant and had the Ä12 menu, chacutterie to start followed by Cuisse de canard with the best chips we ever had in France and a sweet. The preferred option had run out but we were offered isleflotant instead, wonderful. A piche of rosť and coffees accompanied the meal. Well fed we left and crossed back into the parks.
After walking around the exhibits and gardens we eventually returned to the car and headed back towards Malstroit. Time was running out so we decided a supermarket shop for home in the UK was called for.
Car full of wine and goodies, we returned to the gite and chilled before having omelettes for our evening meal. Finally, bed.
